Distribution

While it may conjure images of trucks, warehouses and pallets of products, in the syndicated data world distribution refers to two major related concepts – scanning in stores and scanning of items. Often the number of stores selling metric is abstracted into another pair of metrics, Average % ACV and Maximum % ACV. A brand can increase their distribution by getting more stores to sell their products and/or getting stores to sell their whole portfolio or selling newly developed products.
