SPINSscan Conventional Restatement
SPINSscan Conventional period 7 (ending 7/16/05) included a number of data quality enhancements made by ACNielsen. These enhancements are as follows:
1. More precise retail dollar sales reporting by incorporating non-advertised Temporary Price Reductions (TPRs) and Frequent Shopper discounts, as well as enhancing reported sell price methodology.
2. Enhanced Drug Channel reporting methodology and the inclusion of Duane Reade and other independent retailers in the sample, providing increased precision.
3. A 1-week shift of period end dates to align reporting periods with the annual calendar.
The dollar variance by channel from these enhancements and this restatement are as follows:
Food: 0.2%
Drug: -4.2%
FDM: -1.8%
