Kathryn Peters, Executive Vice President of Business Development
Kathryn joined SPINS in November of 2007 in a newly-created role focused on the ongoing development of the company’s retailer partnerships. She brings more than 15 years of experience in the food retail and consumer packaged goods industries, previously holding the position of Vice President of Grocery and Corporate Brands at BI-LO, LLC, as well as working in the category management and sales organization of Ralston Purina. Kathryn has a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest University’s Babcock Graduate School of Management. Since joining SPINS, Kathryn has proven to be an asset to the business and her role has expanded to include management of both retail and consumer services, in addition to the content development division of the company.
Michael Movitz, Vice President of Business Development
Michael has 21 years natural products industry experience across retail, manufacturer, broker and information supplier organizations, including 11 years with SPINS. He joined SPINS in April 2000 on the manufacturer sales team as Central Region Manager, moved to Director of Sales and ultimately to VP of Sales for a period of 4 years. In 2009 Michael transitioned to working with SPINS’ strategic partners. In his current role as Vice President of Business Development, Michael focuses on licensing partnerships for SPINS Product Library, oversees SPINS’ conventional channel reporting services, supports SPINS’ new service & technology development, and presents industry trend updates and SPINS’ analyses at trade shows and conferences. Michael also works with The Nielsen Company to support manufacturer client objectives related to natural, organic, and health & wellness opportunities. Michael earned his degree from the University Of Southern California School of Business Entrepreneur Program.
Bobbi Leahy, Sales Manager
Bobbi has over 25 years CPG experience across retail, manufacturer and information supplier organizations, including 8 years with SPINS. In her current role as Director of Sales-West, Bobbi works with SPINS’ western region manufacturer clients, to solve for business objectives utilizing SPINS services across retail channels & consumer behavior measurement. Bobbi lives with her daughter Northern California.
John Pavlenkov, Business Consultant
John joined SPINS in July 2007 as the East Coast Business Consultant, bringing with him category management and syndicated retail data experience from Ahold/Stop and Shop, where he served as Senior Financial Analyst and managed perishables category business planning. Prior to Stop and Shop, John worked in store management for Shaw’s Supermarket. In his current role at SPINS, John provides consultative support to manufacturer sales and marketing teams who are responsible for over 20 leading natural brands in the United States. In addition, due to his expertise in vitamins and supplements, he frequently represents SPINS as an industry speaker. John holds degrees in Economics and International Relations from American University in Washington, D.C. as well as an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Sawyer School of Management at Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
Kerry Watson, Manager of the SPINS Product Library
Kerry has worked in the natural products industry for more than 13 years and has been with SPINS for 7 years, where she plays a leadership role in the SPINS Content-Development team. She is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Nutrition Outlook Magazine. Her industry experience includes managing the supplement department at a local natural foods store and starting her own nutrition-consulting practice in San Francisco, where she met with clients to help them achieve better health through diet and nutritional supplementation. Kerry is certified as a nutrition consultant, diet counselor, and nutritional educator through Bauman College. She attended the California School of Herbal Studies located in Forestville, CA, and graduated with certificates in Foundations, Therapeutics, and Clinical Herbalism.
