SPINS and Town & Country Announce Partnership
SCHAUMBURG, IL March 17, 2009 – SPINS, the leading information and service provider for the Natural Products Industry, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Town and Country Markets, a six-store retailer serving the natural and specialty food market in the Puget Sound area of Washington state. This new service represents the third retailer with formalized key account data available for the Specialty and Gourmet Grocery Channel, and will enable Town & Country to work more effectively with vendors and business partners.
As part of the new agreement, SPINS and Town and Country will launch a key account data service, providing category, brand and item-level information specific to the chain. SPINS fact-based information services will enable the retailer to gain a better understanding of the natural, organic, and specialty products arena in order to make sound business decisions.
Since opening its first store in 1957, Town and Country has taken on an organic approach to its business strategy and expansion. Food is not only its trade and passion, but also a means to nourish the quality of life. Drawing upon the response of the communities that it serves, Town and Country maintains diverse formats in each of its locations to better fulfill its shoppers’ needs. Currently operating under two banners, the retailer is comprised of three unique, “neighborhood” markets under the Town and Country name and three larger, “destination” stores established as its Central Markets. The three larger locations specifically have a significant presence of specialty items and attract a wide range of consumers beyond the surrounding area.
“We are pleased to partner with SPINS and see it as an opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the current needs of our customers in the communities we serve,” said Michelle Elsom Town & Country Specialist for Natural, Specialty and Bulk Products. “We strive to provide a product mix that is relevant to our customers and we believe the information that SPINS provides will allow us make necessary decisions with more velocity and intention.”
“SPINS is excited to further develop its initiative within the Specialty and Gourmet Grocery Channel through its new agreement with Town & Country,” says SPINS CEO Tony Olson. “SPINS’ business was built on the principles of providing insight into rapidly expanding markets through close alliances and partnerships among key players. The collaboration between SPINS and Town & Country yields new opportunities for our respective organizations as well as the at-large manufacturer community.”
